Welcome to October musings with Daisy Hoppen
.
The style maven and founder of luxury fashion PR agency DH-PR talks to us this month about what's making her tick...
.
What do you do to feel motivated creatively or otherwise?

I often have my best ideas when I am walking or on the tube / travelling … my notes app on my phone gets used alot here ! I also love finding historical art and design accounts via Instagram - I can go down such holes! Being around people who I respect in terms of their creative vision is also a big part of what inspires me.

What’s making you tick right now, is there something new you’ve discovered you can tell us about?

I have discovered quite a few contemporary painters who are working in a very classic and traditional style that I am really into - beautiful still life set ups and portraiture. Also I have become a big fan of visiting gardens this last year or so whilst I was pregnant - it’s really inspiring getting to walk around incredible green spaces - especially some that have taken decades to develop. Finally it’s not new but we are in the process of, about to start a new home renovation and move (again!) - I have been pouring over Rose Uniake’s beautiful new interiors book.
.
How do you start your day, what does your morning routine look like?

Pre baby it was a Melissa Wood work out at home, speed breakfast and jumping on the tube to go to work 5 days a week - I hate working from home . Now with a new baby it’s slightly more ad hoc and starts with a cuddle and feed, whilst I eat breakfast with my left hand! I also always try to body brush and am religious about my Emma Lewisham beauty regime.
.
What’s your favourite thing about your job? Who or what inspired you to do what you do?

The people I get to work with - both the team at DHPR as well as the clients we are lucky enough to represent . Katy Baggott was hugely inspiring to me and the personal approach she took to her work. But I also admire Anita Borzszkowska and Jess Christie as legendary in terms of PR consultants .
.
What’s most exciting you about the upcoming year?
.
Becoming a mother for the first time! As well as juggling a business as it became 10 years old

Song that never fails to lift your mood?

.

What is your favourite possession and the story behind it?

My engagement ring by William Welstead that my husband gave to me.

If you could visit anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?

Tokyo -
Desperate to get there !
.
And finally...how would you style our Slate dress?

Slate dress … for summer months with soft velvet red Mary Jane’s or bare feet if on holiday ! For winter with some cowboy boots and thick socks.
